My Summer Between Shade and Sea

In the south I learned not to resist summer but to move with it. Light in the morning, shade at noon, water in the evening. In Marseille that is no programme, it is a rhythm, and it does me good.

The art of doing nothing at noon

Between twelve and four little happens with us, and that is on purpose. Shutters closed, a book, perhaps a sleep. The south taught me that a pause is not a loss. You come out of it clearer.

Living with what you love

In summer I notice how right it was to furnish for real. The lime breathes, the linen cools, the wood stays quiet. Plastic things turn sticky and loud in the heat. Real materials only grow more beautiful. For me that is the core of LAROGY.

And to the sea in the evening

When the heat breaks, I go to the water. A dip, a look at the horizon, and the day is complete. Back in the cool apartment even a simple supper tastes of holidays. I wish everyone a summer like that once.

Frequently asked

How do you survive the summer heat in Marseille?

With the rhythm of the south, active in the morning, shade and rest at noon, the water in the evening. And with an apartment that stays cool.

Why are real materials better in summer?

Lime, wood, linen and ceramics stay cool and calm, while plastic turns sticky and unpleasant in the heat. Real material ages well.

What belongs to a summer's day in Marseille?

Cool hours indoors, an afternoon by the sea and a long, easy evening. The change between shade and salt makes the day.
