My Marseille, Where Living and Showing Are the Same

I live in Marseille in an apartment that is also my showroom. It sounds like two things, but it is one. I don't believe in rooms that exist only for photographs. I really live here, I cook, work, welcome people, and that is exactly what guests get to see. Between Longchamp and the station, high enough for good light.

A house with history

The quarter is nineteenth century, from when Marseille built big. At the end of the street stands the Palais Longchamp with its fountains. My apartment shares that age, high ceilings, stucco, an old tomette floor. I changed little and left much. A room like this carries you, you only have to let it.

Living as an attitude

Nothing here sits behind glass. The table I write at is the table I show. The lime on the wall, the linen, the ceramics, all in use. I like things that age with me. A scratch is not a flaw, it is a date. That is LAROGY, not as a concept but as everyday life.

Open doors

Sometimes someone comes by, looks around, stays for an espresso. I tell them where the pieces come from, why I kept them. It is good to have a home you can share. Marseille makes that easy, the city itself lives this way, open and without fuss.
